Woke Inc. shelves multiculturalism

I was reading yet another Hate YT story and realized something interesting: we never hear the word ‘multiculturalism’ any more, even from the same elites who once pushed it with the same gay abandon they once spruiked the campus rape epidemic and Bruce Jenner.

I thought this might just be my impression, not reality, so I checked Google Trends to see how much the word is being searched worldwide.

This is what I found:

Over the last five years it seems to have been most commonly searched in Fiji and Ethiopia rather than in the West.

I compared this against Ngram which searches word frequency in published books:

Once you turn off the smoothing, it becomes clear that the term ‘multiculturalism’ fell into disfavour from about 2016 after a long rise starting in the 1970s. Ngram only goes up to 2019.

This trend makes sense if you think about it.

Multiculturalism was meant to usher in an age of post-nationalism where disparate peoples would live together as one. They would eat different foods, speak different languages at home, wear different clothes and pray to different gods but would be united as patriotic and neighbourly Canadians or Australians or whatever.

Here’s the Australian rendition of the same saccharine song every Anglo country has a version of:

We are one

But we are many

And from all the lands on Earth we come

We’ll share a dream

And sing with one voice

I am, you are, we are Australian

For the Woke, it’s not good enough for all cultures to be considered equal. Much less is it desirable for those cultures to get along.

Woke proclaims: Black Good, White Bad. Other nation in between, as ranked in the strange term BIPOC.

Woke proclaims: Non-whites should not try to get along with whites, who are of course evil. They should instead search for any micro-aggression being perpetrated against them and call it out.

This is why the national flags of all Western countries have been declared racist and banned from many campuses rather than used as unifying symbols of multiculturalism as happened before.

White supremacist Muslims in Australia, or something

There is no idealized end-point to Woke as there was with communism. Woke decrees eternal conflict between the privileged and oppressed, apparently with no prospect of ever tipping the balance the other way.

This is approximately the opposite of the multicultural project.

One wonders whether that project was ever intended in good faith or whether it was a wedge all along – first get the foreigners in with reassuring platitudes, then stir them up against the heritage population.

The simpler explanation is that these things are mostly organic and herd-like. The foreigners were invited (I’m safely using the passive voice), NGO twits and business leaders saw the personal advantage in splitting people apart, then the Woke propaganda began.

Elites win when the people are disunited. Political parties can recruit blocks of voters among ethnic groups (if they still need voters), it’s hard to form labour unions, and opposition to any policy or social trend will be limited by a lack of fellow-feeling and social trust.

Divide and conquer, just like Caesar did to Gaul.

That’s how much of the Third World is run, with governments pitting, say, the Amharic people against the Tigray or the Chinese against the Khmer.

Because it still gets forgotten, I’ll rehash a vital point: whites are not socially or politically united as other groups are. In fact, this is the West’s biggest division.

Readers may have also forgotten the recent gender wars that pitted men against women, or the gay marriage wars, or the trans toilet wars. See the pattern?

Woke is like a circle of kids chanting, “Fight! Fight! Fight!”

As mentioned in a previous post, this doesn’t mean that multiculturalism would have worked perfectly – rather, the various groups now resident in the West would be getting along at least a bit better than they currently are without the constant race-baiting, just as the sexes would be getting along better without all the feminist ‘men r bad’ hysteria.

Wot do? Go back to multiculturalism? It seems too late for that because the resentments unearthed run very, very deep. At this stage it would be like Rodney King on the telly saying, “Can’t we all just get along?”

As I’ve said before, the only true assimilation is miscegenation. If we’re not interbreeding, the best we can hope for is to negotiate an uneasy peace like the Malays, Chinese and Indians of Malaysia.

And the trouble with interbreeding is that the Woke plonk those of mixed race into either the ‘eww, white’ or ‘kewl, BIPOC’ baskets, with nothing in between. Obama is a noble BIPOC. Tulsi is an evil white supremacist in league with Putin.

While Woke reigns, informal separation seems the only option left. That’s too bad. I could have lived with multiculturalism if the ethnics were all smiley and patriotic like in the community service announcements.

For those of us in the Overseas, our best bet is heartfelt assimilation into our host population or quiet coexistence with some sweeteners here and there in the hopes they’ll let us WEIRD people stay. Let us learn from the mistakes of history and try to become a welcome diaspora.

Why is there more than one method to calculate GPAs?

“One wonders whether that project was ever intended in good faith or whether it was a wedge all along”

Wedge. Obviously. The key is that when our rulers realized the predictable and logical outcomes of their early decisions, they chose to double down.

Every single time. For half a century.

Right now in California, the term “alien” is banned and illegals are being actively recruited into elections management. Do not speak of good faith.

‘This is approximately the opposite of the multicultural project. One wonders whether that project was ever intended in good faith or . . .’

Good faith? From the trans-generational globalista demons? They want to enslave you and they enjoy watching you suffer as much as possible while they do it. Makes them feel alive.

Hope that helps with your indecision.
