No blubbing

Apparently there’s some sort of election going on in America.

I don’t keep a close eye on politics in the capitalist states, but I do recall that the last time around a few supporters of the losing team reacted in a way that did little to enhance their dignity.

This time around, no one knows who’ll win. The polls are unreliable. Trump’s Boomercons are fired up and Biden’s hidin’, but don’t discount the 40% who think Trump is the kid from The Omen grown up.

Trump could lose.

If you’re a Trump supporter, here are some suggestions from a sympathizer:

1. Recall the deep and visceral pleasure you derived from that Democrat temper tantrum in 2016.

Do you want to give them the same satisfaction this time around?

That’s what I thought.

Don’t make a fool of yourself. If someone else does, shut them down. Accept any outcome manfully.

2. The eventual result of any situation is unclear.

Recall the proverb of the Taoist farmer:

There was a farmer whose horse ran away. That evening the neighbors gathered to commiserate with him since this was such bad luck. He said, “May be.” The next day the horse returned, but brought with it six wild horses, and the neighbors came exclaiming at his good fortune. He said, “May be.” And then, the following day, his son tried to saddle and ride one of the wild horses, was thrown, and broke his leg.

Again the neighbors came to offer their sympathy for the misfortune. He said, “May be.” The day after that, conscription officers came to the village to seize young men for the army, but because of the broken leg the farmer’s son was rejected. When the neighbors came in to say how fortunately everything had turned out, he said, “May be.”

Maybe Trump will win and achieve even less than in his first term, getting on as he is. Maybe his victory will provoke the Woke into new extremes of insanity that will really push civilization over the edge.

Maybe President Harris will just be another big-business crony who seeks nothing but some extra remuneration, good economic figures and reelection, like Bill Clinton. Maybe she’ll go nuts and inspire normal people to separate and form an internal monastic network where Western culture can be maintained for posterity.

The reaction to the result will probably make a larger difference than the actual outcome. Whichever way it goes, no one knows for sure what will happen next, and therefore which electoral outcome would be the most desirable.

If Trump wins, don’t assume everything will be fine from now on and become complacent. That’s not what happened in 2016.

If Harris wins, don’t lose hope. You never know what will come up. Like the wise farmer, accept with equanimity all circumstances that are beyond your control.

Ranting and raving is for sooks.

Whoever you’re voting for, I hope you and your family prosper and enjoy security in whatever political environment eventuates.

And be thankful that Woodrow Bloody Wilson isn’t running this time around.

Disclosure: this is Soviet interference in the US election. Repeat these magic words in Russian and help Trump win:

Aksala kcab evig! Aksala kcab evig! Aksala kcab evig!

That Daoist parable is from the tao te ching, right? You should read the liezi next. It’s more mystic than laozi, and more mythical than Mencius.

I think the Biden-Harris voters are more likely than Trump voters to freak out if the other side claims victory.
I am fortified by pessimism, so, for me, the immediate future will either confirm my expectations or be a happy surprise.

As a fellow pessimist, I’m assuming a continuation of decline under either leader so I’m not too worried about the result.

Some presidential actions can have far-reaching effects, aside from the ones you mentioned. Trump’s executive order against Critical Race Theory in government institutions is one such example. The dismantling of ObamaCare under Trump, or its resurrection under Biden, is another.

    Dear Comrade Nikolai,

I must disagree with your comment that “Maybe Trump will win and achieve even less than in his first term.” The degenerate capitalist pig has unwittingly achieved more for the People’s Democratic Republic cause than I ever thought possible.

He has collectivized NATO, spreading the costs to other member states of the decadent West. He has removed proletariat troops from Syria, which outraged some members of the bourgeoisie US Congress. He has stimulated the US economy to provide record jobs for oppressed proletariat groups such as Blacks and Hispanics. He has cut taxes for Socialist oligarchs in Amerika, so that these oligarchs can hire more social justice warriors to further our Glorious Leftist Movements.

He has unwittingly brought peace to several Eastern Block People’s Democratic Republics in Europe and the Mid East, and has eased tensions with our international brothers in the People’s Democratic Republic of North Korea. He has replaced NAFTA with USMCA, which is bringing jobs to our socialist comrades and allies in the US working class. He has managed to implement a great internationalist public works project along the southern border of the US.

We must be optimistic! Our glorious people’s revolution is on the march!

I’m expecting a Biden win but also won’t be shocked if Orangeman pulls it off. Vox Day and many posters on RVF are guaranteeing a Trumpslide, but I think this is mostly cheerleading for their side and wishful thinking based on living in a right-wing bubble of their own making.

Hope I’m wrong and we’ll see the commies lose again like last time. An all-out crushing rout would be glorious.

Your advice about not melting down publicly if it doesn’t go our way is solid. Remember how great it was to watch Cenk Uygur and his crew lose their minds last time? If our guy loses, don’t be Bizarro Cenk Uygur and give them the pleasure.

Disagree. If Trump loses, would be great if the right showed some spine and carried out mass disruptive protests and vandalizing of cities rather than go home quietly like good gentlemen. The left wins cause they have the energy, the fanatics. Also, the more chaos in the imperial capital the better. Bring it down.

I would count that as blubbing.

The people who run the businesses and factories are not the people who burn down the businesses and factories. The left wins with rioting because it’s’ not their stuff they’re trashing. If the right wants to win then they can defund the public schools that the left uses to recruit at our literal expense.

When I talk smack about Trump not wanting to win, that’s the sort of thing I mean.

One thing is clear, and has been since 2016: The polls are simply rigged, to give the result the media wants to broadcast.

Justice says that the U.S. has it coming. Holy Mercy, which we all hope for, might give us something different.

No idea what that might be, however.

Though on Kipling-esque Never Pay the Danegeld (inspired by Mrs. Kiplings dealings with their toddler) principles it would be SO satisfying if Mr. Trump won. Nonetheless…

    Deo volente.
